What does being a ‘Kids’ Board member’ mean?

If you are chosen as a member of the Kids’ Board, you’ll be invited to attend a Board Meeting at Tesco’s head office on Thursday 14th July to tell us, on behalf of schools and clubs nationwide, what you would like to see from the Schools & Clubs programme next year.

And, with the other five members of the Board, you will have the exciting opportunity to help us make decisions about the future of the programme, including:

  • help rate and review brand new products that have never been seen before
  • help choose equipment for the 2012 catalogue
  • meeting the people who develop some of the equipment in the catalogue
  • tell us what you would like to see from the Schools & Clubs programme

You will also be given the opportunity to put forward a series of questions from your class mates for the Kids’ Board Chairperson to answer.

But that’s not all! You will also travel to Tesco’s HQ with your parents and stay in a hotel overnight before attending the Board Meeting. You will also win 10,000 Tesco for Schools & Clubs vouchers for your school or club, as well as a cool laptop and digital camera.

If you are not chosen for the Board, but are one of our six runners up, you will receive 1,000 Tesco for Schools & Clubs vouchers for your school or club and a digital camera.

How do I become a Tesco Kids' Board member?

To enter, all you need to do is tell us why you deserve to be a Tesco Kids’ Board member and what you would do to help make the Schools and Clubs programme even better, by completing the following sentence in no more than 100 words:

"I would make a good Tesco Kids' Board member because..."

Hint & tips

When completing your entry, try to think of some of the things that a Board Member must do:

  • making decisions
  • setting goals and targets
  • working together
  • thinking of others
